On the face of the cross there is the date 1937,
which is presumed to be the year in which the cross
was erected.
The 'Coronation' biscuit tin, used for the
collection, tells us that the chapel was in use
after 1953.
Also on the base of the cross is, more crudely
inscribed, 1989, the year in which the chapel was
restored. A celebration was held to commemorate the
event
The door, windows and roof are all in good
condition as a result of repairs undertaken in
1989.
